Coming soon: A walk in Cashel's historic town

04/03/2025

You cannot visit Ireland without viewing the seat of the kings of Munster and the site of Brian Ború's coronation as High King of Ireland.

Cashel is the ancient capital of Munster and political domain of the Eóganacht dynasty from the 5th century. The newly restored Cormac's Chapel is a wonderful example of 12th century European-inspired architecture, while the cathedral was built in the 13th century. And Cashel has many other monuments to see other than the famous Rock: the ruins of Hore Abbey, Kearney's Castle, St Dominic's Abbey and the Bishop's Palace. We see all of these in a leisurely walk around the town.
